1. How to delete your account (in the app)
The fastest way to delete your account is inside the FaceLinked.in app. You must be signed in.
- Open the FaceLinked.in app on your device.
- Sign in with the email and password for the account you want to remove.
- Go to Settings (from your profile or main menu).
- Tap Delete account.
- Read the confirmation message carefully, then confirm to permanently delete your account.
After confirmation, your account and associated data are scheduled for removal from our systems. You will be signed out. This action cannot be undone.
If the in-app deletion fails (for example, a network error), sign out, check your connection, try again, or contact us using the details in section 5.
2. Data that is deleted
When you successfully delete your account through the app, we delete or disassociate the following from your user identity, subject to short backup retention described below:

| Authentication | Login credentials and session; push notification tokens for your devices |
| Social & messaging | Posts, comments, reactions, direct messages, group memberships, follows, blocks, mutes, and related in-app content tied to your account |
| Attachments you uploaded | Files and images attached to social content or messages, where stored under your account |
| Preferences & activity tied to you | In-app notification state, notification preferences, and other user-specific settings |
3. Data that may be kept
Some information cannot be fully erased when you delete your account because of legal or security obligations:

4. When deletion takes effect
- Immediate: You are signed out and can no longer use the account.
- Within a few days: Active databases and storage are updated to remove or anonymise your account-linked data.
- Up to 90 days: Residual copies in encrypted backups or operational logs may persist briefly, then are purged on a rolling basis unless law requires longer retention.
